Information About My Classes
đ Practical, intense, engaging, and designed for optimal student learning.
đ Rapid English Speaking IELTS Band 5.5 -> 8 or TOEFL IBT 17 -> 28
Course Description:
Are you stuck in IELTS band 6? OR TOEFL iBT 60â78?!? đ¤
This isn't another tips and tricks class. This is the intensive fluency practice that made me the #1 IELTS teacher in Korea-with a 1-year waitlist and students flying in from 5 countries.
Here's what happens:
- You'll speak 5x more than in any other class-because correction under pressure is the only way to band 8.
- Every grammar error, awkward pause, or weak argument gets hunted down đš and fixed live (no hiding).
- Fridays are 'prove it' days-where you re-deliver past answers flawlessly or repeat until you can.
You'll leave:
- â Able to bullsh*it convincingly (essential for Speaking/Writing)
- â Unshakable under examiner pressure (no more nervous breakdowns)
- â With a kill switch â ď¸ for bad habits (filler words, weak vocab, rambling)
No refunds if you cry đ

FAQs
Curious about how my ESL classes work? You're in the right place. We've gathered answers to the questions students ask most, so you can feel confident and informed every step of the way.
About My Class
No. This class is open to anyone who wants to improve their English speaking skills, whether or not they are preparing for a test. It is not a casual classâit is designed for rapid English speaking development.
My focus is solely on speaking skills because that is where most students struggle. Reading, writing, and listening are important too, but they can be improved more easily through self-study and practice. By developing your speaking skills, you also strengthen the other three. In my class, your reading, writing, and listening skills will improve significantly.
Currently, classes are held at my home near Quebec St. and E 14th Avenue in Vancouver, BC.
This class combines in-person and online learning. Students can choose to attend classes at my home or join remotely via Zoom. Those who cannot attend in person due to distance or personal circumstances can participate online. I encourage in-person learning, as some online students find it difficult to concentrate, but I have techniques to keep everyone engaged.
Classes are held in groups of up to six people. We practice pronunciation, fluency, vocabulary, and grammar through many practice questions.
IELTS Speaking score above 5.5 or TOEFL Speaking score above 17. However, an actual score is not requiredâit simply helps me gauge your skill level. Many ESL students have never taken an English exam but are eager to learn English quickly.
Everyoneâs skills vary. A student may have strong fluency (IELTS score 7) but weak grammar (IELTS score 4), or anything in between. Thatâs why an English speaking test with me is mandatory.
Frequent exposure and practice are key!
It depends on your first language. The more grammatically different it is from English, the longer it may take.
For example, a native Korean or Japanese speaker may take longer to prepare for the IELTS than a native French speaker.
A native Korean or Japanese speaker with an IELTS score of 6 may require 4â5 months, while a native Spanish speaker with the same score may need only 2â3 months.
My class is designed for rapid English speaking improvement. Iâve had Korean and Japanese students go from a 6 to a 7 in just 3 months. Itâs definitely possible.
I use my own online resources. My students have access to a database with thousands of IELTS, TOEFL, CELPIP, and PTE questions when they join.
Each class focuses on a specific topic, such as âfamily,â âwork,â or âtechnology.â We practice questions related to that topic, ranging from easy personal questions to more academic, abstract ones, depending on the test you are preparing for.
Each week, I post a Spotlight Topic of the Week so you can see the types of questions we practice in classâthese are actual questions from IELTS, TOEFL, CELPIP, and PTE speaking tests.
Check out the Pronunciations page. Every class begins with the pronunciation exercises you need most.
Yes, I offer a free trial class for new students to observe. This allows you to experience my teaching style and see if itâs a good fit before committing.

Test Preparation
No, I only cover the English speaking test. However, strong speaking skills enhance and complement the other three skills.
Yes. At the end of every month, we do a mock test with feedback. These mock tests are recorded and reviewed in class.
Improvement in all four areasâfluency, vocabulary, grammar, and pronunciationâis key. In each class, I provide personalized feedback and targeted practice. This includes identifying specific areas for improvement, offering tailored exercises, and conducting regular progress assessments.
Yes, I teach various test-taking strategies tailored to the ESL exams. This includes time management techniques, question analysis, and effective response strategies to help students maximize their scores.
I tell my students that passing on the first try can be difficult, mainly because of nerves. Nerves are the number one challenge for first-time test takers. I always suggest taking the test once to experience the pressure and get a feel for the format. If you don't pass, you can learn from the experience and be better prepared for your next attempt.
